Roll it Away

A couple of months ago, I traveled to a nearby city to get some few items for my cousins who had just moved in to stay with us.

I joined a trosky (a commercial van), to take me to my final station after buying the items. People joined the van at different points. Some people stood at positions where it was illegal for a car to stop and take passengers. Such passengers had to hurriedly join to avoid being seen by the police otherwise the driver would get sanctioned; meaning the driver would have to be fined or we would all have to get down from the van and look for other means of transport which is very tedious, looking at how very busy the road is.

We got to a place where a man wanted to join. He swung his arm and shouted the name of the destination we were headed to; the usual way passengers called a commercial car but the conductor of the bus refused him entrance and giving him the explanation that his items were too many for the car to stop. The conductor wanted to avoid the aftercome if he let the driver stop the van and allow the man in. He chose being free over the money he would gain if the passenger joined the car.

This is can be likened to like our Christian lives.

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ”

Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV

Some things weigh us and prevent us from running right, the race set before us in this Christian journey we are in. Attitudes like unforgiveness, and others are weights that prevent us from moving on; they draw us back.

Imagine if the man had no luggage, he could have easily joined and got to the destination on time. That is why we need to give every burden on us to God. For His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Rest on Him, lean on Him, roll it away. Give it all to Jesus. Roll it all away to Him.

Would you choose Jesus over mundane things just like the conductor of the car chose to be free than to allow the passenger in and be caught by the police?

Make your choice today.

Choose whom this who you will serve.

Jesus is best option and is the answer for the world today. Above Him, there’s no other.

Have a splendid week! Love y’all 🥰
